Texas License Requirements

 Salesperson's License 

1. 210 Classroom hours of real estate education including 60 hours in Principles of Real Estate, 30 hours in Law of Agency, 30 hours in Law of Contracts, and an additional 30 hour elective course. The additional 60 hours can include either 4 semester hours of qualifying college credit OR two additional 30 hour elective courses.
2. Must be a Texas resident 18 years of age or older.
3. Pay applicable fees and pass the license examination.
4. A sponsoring broker is required to have your license issued in "Active" status.


 Broker's License 

1. Two years active licensure within past 96 months.
2. 18 years of age or older.
3. 900 classroom hours of education with 270 hours of those hours in core real estate subjects.
4. Pay applicable fees and pass the license examination.


 License Renewal 

1. 60 additional hours for the first year.
2. Beginning the second year, the agent is required to complete 15 MCE hours for each license renewal.
